Michigan 2005 Safety Goal

Brothers and Sisters,

Year 2004 Safety was a disaster for Rail Employees. SOFA stats at this time confirm that at least 14 Train and Engine service employees have died in switching and road accidents.  Never has a time been so apparent than now that Safety must come first. Everything we do not only affects us individually but everyone around us. We are indeed our Brothers' Keeper!

We are all aware that more is being asked of each of us while there are fewer of us to do our jobs. With the additional workload that the Carriers are placing on us it is critical that we think of performing our duties in the safest method possible. This must also include vigilance on Rail Security.
